The Delta Den Reunion

There is a group of us that were best friends at Auburn. We were in the same Tri Delta pledge class and we like to call ourselves the Delta Den because we lived behind the fire doors on our sorority hall. We even made a sign to put on the fire door for the year we lived there. Since college we have tried to get together at least once a year, and this past weekend we got together at Jenn's lake house.

We did a lot of talking...
Some boating...
some eating... (Niffers on the Lake...our college fav)
and some swimming...(we actually decided to swim to the small island in the background)We had such a great time catching up with each other, reminiscing, and laughing. I only wish we could get together more often and that everyone could be there. We had a few mishaps but we didn't let them spoil the fun! Girls, when you read this, know that I love you all and I had a wonderful weekend!

3 year Old + scissors

= PROBLEM.

Yesterday the girls wore these cute dress that my mom embroidered on.
When we got home from the Y and story time, I was on the phone with Sprint technical support trying to fix my cell phone. Emma Catherine was it in the kitchen with me and then she remembered that she forgot to put her shoes in the basket in the garage. She went into the garage and she was in there for awhile. When I got off the phone, she was coming inside and she was smiling. She said, "I cut my dress." I said, "what?" and she said, "I used the scissors and cut my dress." I looked on her dress and saw this.
I couldn't believe it and I sent her to timeout. Then I was putting Bailey in her highchair to feed her lunch and I see this on her dress.
Yep, that's right, she cut Bailey's dress too. You might be wondering how she got a hold of scissors and yes, I left them out. The night before, we were having ice pops outside and I got out the scissors to cut them open and I left them in the garage. She definitely knows better than to cut things, but I will definitely be more careful about where I leave scissors.

Vacation Bible School

Last week we had Vacation Bible School at our church. The theme was the Boomerang Express and I taught 4 year olds with my friends, Julie and Kathryn. Emma Catherine and Bailey also had their own classes and we all had a blast. It was definitely a tiring week for us, but it was fun.

These are the views of our classroom.
This is our class.
Julie, myself, and Kathryn
And then comes the VBS Family Night which was on Friday night. Emma Catherine, as usual was all talk. We have been practicing the songs for a month or so and all day she talked about singing at church. When we woke her up from her nap, she was very grumpy, which continued to church. This is the face we were getting all the way to church...
and the face we got on stage. She didn't sing one song. She sat on the step throughout the first song. Then she did this for the whole second song.
After having her back to us for the 2nd song, I have to admit, I tried to bribe her into singing. I know, not good parenting, but at the time I thought it was worth a shot to try to get her to sing the last song. I told her if she sang the last song, she might get a treat after the program. This is Emma Catherine during the 3rd song...
Needless to say, the bribe did not work and she did not sing. As we were walking back to our seats, she said, "do I get my treat now?" Ugh, I don't think so. Well it was a fun memory, maybe next year will be better. If you remember from last year's post on VBS, it didn't go well then either.

Mom and Kaylee

This past week my mom and Kaylee visited us. Kaylee was actually the flower girl in our wedding and she and my mom have come to visit for a week in the summer for about the past 4 years. What a great week it was. We were very busy and did lots of fun things. Of course, we took tons of pictures so it is very hard to choose which ones to post, but I'll do my best.

Our week in pictures...They played outside.
They put on a show for us complete with prizes and curtsies.
We went to the zoo with some friends and then went to the park to play in the fountains.
We went to Chuck E. Cheese.
When we dropped them off at the airport this morning Emma Catherine got very quiet and I looked in the rear view mirror and she was crying. We were all sad to see them leave.

Happy Birthday, Chris

This past weekend we went to Prattville to celebrate Ryan's brother's 40th birthday. We had a great time seeing all the cousins play together, and spending time with Ryan's family. This is most (minus Seth) of the cousins playing on the swing set.The older cousins watching Chris open his presents.
Shelby was partied out!

Our Trip to Florida

Last week we went to Florida and we had a blast, although the week went far too quickly. It started with a swim in my parents pool when we arrived.
The next day we went to lunch with Papa and then church.
Thursday we went to the beach with the girls and my sister. Both girls liked the beach especially playing in the sand near the water.

On Friday, we went shopping and the girls got to ride the merry-go-round. My mom and Emma Catherine danced to entertain Bailey.

On Friday, my dad, sister, Ryan and I went to the Rays game. A friend gave us their tickets and they were great seats.

On Saturday we celebrated my dad's birthday and my birthday. We had a lot of funny moments and it was great to be together as a family. The girls helped open all the presents and also managed to get a few presents for themselves.

p.s. I don't know what is up with blogger but I had tons of trouble uploading pictures and getting them moved down the page. I think it has taken me over an hour to do this post. Are there other ways out there to load pictures for each post?
