Bobbie's Wedding Reception

Last weekend we went to Nashville for a dear friend, Bobbie's, wedding reception.  She looked beautiful, happy, and relaxed!

We had such a good time and I think it was especially special because it was the first time in almost 5 years the delta den has been all together.  The Delta Den is the group of my 5 best friends from college.  We lived behind the fire doors in the dorm and we nicknamed ourselves the Delta Den and my mom even made us letters to put on the fire door that said Delta Den.  We try to get together once a year but for various reasons (mostly location) someone has been missing from each of the last 4 years.  Five years ago we all met in Atlanta, and that was the last time we were all together at one time.
After dinner they cleared some of the tables away and we all got to dance.  The girls loved dancing with their daddy, and running all over the dance floor.
Of course no visit to Nashville would be complete without a meal with Carly.

Yes, I Have 2 Children

I feel like I haven't written about Bailey in forever.  Emma Catherine has had so many activities in the past month that she has taken over the blog.  There is something new going on with Bailey though....potty training!  We have started potty training this week.  She has actually been using the potty since before she was 2 but I haven't pushed it at all because of it being winter and having school and activities.  I've just let her use it when she wanted.  She has been asking to wear underwear so on Tuesday we were going to be home all day so I just went for it.  She has been wearing underwear all week and only had 1 tee-tee accident.  She's not a fan of number 2 so I'm hoping that gets better but overall, I think she's done great.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my 29th birthday.  I don't really feel any older but I don't like only being one year away from 30.  Since Ryan wouldn't be here on my actual bday we celebrated this weekend.  Ryan had ordered a cake for me so on Friday after dinner we had cake.
Saturday was a great relaxing day.  We hung outside most of the morning.  The girls played with their water table and then we had a picnic lunch on the driveway.

On Saturday night we arranged for a babysitter and Ryan and I went on a date.  We went to the Melting Pot restaurant for dinner.  Ryan had never been there and I hadn't been there since I was little.  It was a wonderful, relaxing meal and it was nice to know our girls were well taken care of.  I still can't get over how good the chocolate fondue was that we had for dessert.  I meant to take a picture but I forgot.

Yesterday the girls and I had a busy day of the Y and gymnastics.  They both took great naps and a sweet friend brought me a GiGi's cupcake.  After they woke up, I decided that I really didn't want to cook or clean up after dinner so we went to one of my favorite places for dinner, Jason's Deli.  They had emailed me a birthday coupon so it worked out great.  Before we left the girls and I tried to take a little photo shoot.  We laughed a lot at how silly some of the pictures turned out.

Auburn Softball

On Mother's Day weekend we all went to Auburn to see Auburn softball play on senior weekend.  The seniors this weekend were freshmen when Lauren was a senior.  One family, The Thompson's, became very close to our family and we wanted to support Anna on senior weekend.  We had such a fun time being back in Auburn.  It started with a visit to see this beautiful little girl and her sweet mommy.  Allison is a very close friend and she her husband Zac just adopted a little girl from Russia.  Rebekah is precious, sweet, and adorable and I was so glad to get a chance to see her person.  I burst into tears when I saw her because I know how many years of prayers have gone into her being brought home to Zac and Allison.  I hope once we move to Birmingham we will be able to see even more of her.

On Friday night we went to dinner with the group....fun times for us all.
We spent Saturday and Sunday at the ball fields.  The girls were great the whole day.  They played with their strollers, bubbles, and balls and they watched a little softball on the side.  We were so proud of Auburn because they swept Arkansas.

This is Anna Thompson, who was an excellent pitcher at Auburn and I'm so glad our families are friends!

Ballet

Last week Emma Catherine had her spring ballet recital.  I was really impressed with how she did.  She was so excited to dance on the stage and she took her role as the line leader very seriously.  We were so proud of her, and she was so excited that Ryan was able to drive in from Atlanta to see her.

the ATL

This weekend we went to Atlanta to visit Ryan for the weekend.  On Saturday morning Ryan ran in a 5K for ALS.  A coworker of Ryan's at Control Southern has ALS and the entire company ran in the race to support him.  They raised over $1500.00 for ALS.  After the race, the company's president hosted a picnic for all the Control Southern families.

On Saturday night we had a special surprise for the girls.  We took them to American Girl Place to eat dinner.  We didn't tell Emma Catherine until we were in the mall.  We thought we were safe because she can't read yet, but on the way in, she saw the sign and said, "Hey mom, that's a bitty baby store because it has the same star that's on my bitty baby's shirt."  The dinner was very good and it was a fun time to be together as a family.

On Sunday we went to church at North Point Community Church and we even got to see Andy Stanley preach live.
