Nash-vegas

After shopping at the warehouse sale (see below), Carly took us shopping at the Opry Mills mall. It was so packed, but we thought it was a really neat mall and we found some Christmas presents for our family. Carly's friend, Ricky, met us for dinner at The Aquarium restaurant and Emma Catherine was in awe of all the fish and especially the diver in the tank.

Aunt Carly bought her a kids' make-your-own Sunday...hooray!

Yep, she ate the whole entire thing

Bailey got into the whipped cream...oops

We had such a good time and the girls were so great all day even though Emma Catherine didn't have a nap and Bailey just had a few small ones. The girls were so worn out that they were both asleep before we got out of the Nashville city limits.

The Warehouse Sale

A couple of weeks ago I got a postcard about a Kelly's Kids warehouse sale. I have never been to a warehouse sale but the postcard said $9.99 for all tops and pants and $14.99 for all dresses. I love a good bargain and I had the recent Kelly's Kids catalog, so I new those prices were cheap. What I didn't know was what a warehouse sale would be like....MADNESS! Ryan was kind enough to take our family to Nashville for the day for the sale and he took the girls to an indoor playground while I (fought), I mean shopped at the sale. My friend Carly met me at the sale to help. Our plan was to each one take a size, but that didn't really last long. I got to the sale at 8:30 am and it started at 9:00, and the line was already down the street. I cannot confirm this, but people told us the the women at the front of the line were there at 4:30 am. Once the doors opened it was a free-for-all to grab as much clothes as possible. People just piled up clothes and in about 30 minutes (or less) there was almost nothing left on any rack. Once all the clothes were gone, people was sit on the ground and sort through what they grabbed. People were then like vultures and would grab up anything that someone didn't want. It was crazy and fun all at the same time and we even got to see a few fights that required Kelly's Kids reps and security to break them up. (not physical fighting, just yelling and arguing) All that to say, I did find some clothes for the girls for next fall, got a great deal, and had a pretty good time. I will say, though, that I never could have done it without Carly's help. We took some pictures but none of them really do it justice.
Yikes...it was crazy

It's hard to see, but all the people in the background are waiting to pay and the racks in the front of the picture show what was left (not much).

This is the discard table with a few clothes "thrown" on top. Most discarded clothes never made it to the table because people would take it before you even could get up to put the clothes on the table.
look at all the people!

Beat Bama

I have lots I want to post about and I usually like to post in order, but considering that it's Iron Bowl week, I felt the need to post this picture. This was really in a store window this weekend in Nashville, and it cracked us up. I think the picture speaks for itself. Let's all hope Auburn can pull off the big upset this weekend. War Eagle!

Emma Catherine's First Visit

...to the Emergency Room. Today after lunch Bailey pooped in her diaper and I was about to nurse her so I didn't want to change her upstairs. Emma Catherine was watching Beauty and the Beast so I didn't even tell her I was going outside. I ran literally to the garage and grabbed a diaper and wipes out of Bailey's diaper bag and ran back into the house and I hit Emma Catherine smack on the head with the door. She started crying and I picked her up and saw blood coming from a gash above her eye. I cleaned it up, but then I didn't know what to do. I called Ryan and we talked back and forth over if she needed so be seen by a doctor. I ended up emailing him a picture, but in the mean time, I called her doctor. The nurse was extremely nice and told me that I needed to take her to the ER at Children's hospital since it was a gash and it was on her face. I loaded up the girls and went downtown to the ER and Ryan met us there. I was very impressed with the hospital they were so kind and we didn't have to wait at all. When the doctor came to look at the cut, she decided that Emma Catherine didn't need stitches after all, and could get by with a couple of steri-strips. Even though she didn't need stitches, I was still glad we took her because I would have been worried about it, especially since it's still bleeding a little.

Not a Good Nap?...

On Saturday Bailey was not taking a good afternoon nap. She was talking and playing a lot in her crib. She is usually a great sleeper, so this was very unusual for her. I looked in her video monitor and ran upstairs to get a picture of this ...
Her first time pulling up to standing. Needless to say, Ryan lowered the crib on Sunday. She hasn't pulled all the way up again but she is trying. She pulls up to her knees all the time. We can't believe how big and old she is getting.

Sisters Weekend 2008

Last weekend Carly, Shelley and Lauren came to visit and it was so much fun. Carly and I and Shelley and Lauren have been friends for a long time, but because of all of us living all over, we've haven't spent a lot of time all together. We stayed up late talking, laughing, eating Emma Catherine's Halloween candy, and sometime after midnight on Friday we decided to watch the Oprah episode about miracle children on DVR. (I cried.) We took lots of pictures, did some shopping, and talked about doing a sister's weekend every year.

Trick or Treat

On Friday night we took Emma Catherine trick or treating in our neighborhood. At first she didn't know what to do but it didn't take her long and by the 3rd house, she wanted to go to the door all by herself. She loved filling her princess bucket and of course, she wanted to eat her candy all along the way.
