Bullfrogs and Butterflies Brunch

On Tuesday Emma Catherine had her Spring program, the Bullfrogs and Butterflies Brunch.  They started by singing songs and she did so well.  She sang all the songs.  After they sang we had lunch and they showed us the crafts they made.  On the way home she said, "I am the best singer ever."  I guess she enjoyed herself.  (this is Emma Catherine's lunch, the parents' lunch was a little nicer.)

Cheer Stars

Emma Catherine has been taking Cheer Stars at preschool this semester, and she has loved it.  My mom actually paid for her to take the classes and I am so grateful because she enjoyed it so much.  Last week they had a pep rally to show what they learned this semester.  I thought it was so cute.

Bobbie's Bachelorette Party

Last Saturday I got to go to Nashville to celebrate a great college friend's bachelorette party.  Bobbie is getting married on May 2nd in a small family wedding.  I am sad I won't be there but completely understand her reasons for a small wedding.  I am looking forward to going to her reception two weeks later.  It was fun to get to celebrate Bobbie and to shower her with fun things for her honeymoon.

The weekend started a little rocky when I got a flat tire just as we arrived in Nashville.

A Quick Trip

My sister had to leave Chattanooga on Wednesday after lunch to get back for her softball game that night.  After exhausting all my resources to try to find a babysitter for the girls while I went to BSF, my Thursday morning Bible study, I said on a whim at lunch, "Why don't the girls and I go back with you?"  Those that know me, know that I am not really a spontaneous person and I really try to keep a schedule with the girls.  Since they were on Spring Break, I couldn't find a babysitter for Bible study, Ryan is gone during the week, and my parents have our dog, I decided to go for it and we quickly packed up and headed to Nashville.

On Wednesday night we met friends at Baja Burrito (which was yummy) before Lauren's softball game.  One on Lauren's friends was Aubie at Auburn and he just had to watch Bailey's favorite video, Aubie Tigers (that's her name for it, not sure what it is actually called).
At the ball fields, the girls were thrilled that there was a playground.
A boy on Lauren's team was having a birthday so Lauren's friends decided to have an impromptu birthday party for him at the ball field with balloons, glow in the dark bracelets, snacks, and juice boxes. Of course the girls thought it was a lot of fun.  They definitely kept us laughing and Lolli's team won the game!
On Thursday we enjoyed hanging out with Lolli and then both girls took great naps.  On Thursday we had an another sister's reunion with Carly and Shelley.  We went to dinner and then to a yogurt place with every kind of topping imaginable.

On Friday, the girls and I packed up and headed home to be home before Ryan got back from Atlanta.  I was so glad I was spontaneous for once, because we had such a fun time and we don't get opportunities like that very much.

The Park

After my parents left, my sister was able to stay through Wednesday since her school district was on spring break like ours.  On Tuesday we decided pack a picnic lunch and to take the girls to the park on the river downtown.  Next to the park they have a big hill that kids love to slide down on boxes.  We brought boxes to slide on, but for some reason they did not slide very well.  We made several attempts, but we weren't very successful.

Emma Catherine then decided to try to go down backward.

Next we decided to play at the park.

Easter Parties at School

My parents and sister were able to be in town for the girls' Easter parties at preschool.  My mom wanted to make something for the parties so she made 2 bunny cakes for the girls.  Emma Catherine got to help her with the one for her class.

Both girls had fun at their parties.

Easter

This was after church at the Convention center.  Everyone said the Easter service was fantastic.  I was actually in charge of the baby room for the nursery.  We had 18 very tired babies....a little crazy.  I was glad to be able to help with the children but I definitely missed being in the Easter service.  I love to be able to celebrate Jesus being alive in incredible worship.  My favorite song is "Makes Me Want to Shout" and they ended the service with it.  Ryan actually tried to run out and get me so I could hear it but it was too late.  My parents had to leave to head back to Florida right after the service so Ryan, Lauren, the girls, and I went to lunch at Mellow Mushroom.  We sat outside and enjoyed the great weather.

Because of my parents leaving right after church on Sunday, we had an Easter egg hunt for the girls on Saturday afternoon when Bailey woke up from her nap.

On Sunday, we all took naps and then Emma Catherine and Bailey hunted Easter eggs at our neighbor's house.  Emma Catherine found the special egg and she won the $5.00 prize

Easter at the Zoo

On the Saturday before Easter, my parents and my sister took the girls to the zoo for an Easter event.  Ryan and I didn't get to go because we were helping set up for our church's Easter service at the convention center.

Mayfield Dairy Farm

Over their Spring Break (which was the week before ours), my parents came to visit for a week.  It was so wonderful to have help for a week, but we were definitely crowded in the house since we don't have a guest bedroom anymore.  We made it work, though.

One day while they were here, we went to visit the Mayfield Dairy Farm with some friends.  Unfortunately, it was a bust.  They were not having milk production that day so we couldn't take a tour.  We all did get to have yummy ice cream though.  Hopefully we'll try again.

Cold Stone Field Trip

Once again, I am behind on blogging.  I am going to try to catch up because I want the memories recorded.  Before Spring Break, Emma Catherine went on a field trip to Cold Stone Creamery with her preschool class.  They let the kids each pick a flavor and a mix-in, and then they got to mix it themselves.  Emma Catherine chose Cotton Candy ice cream with marshmallows...not what I would have chosen, but she liked it.

They also let them go in the back to see how the ice cream is made and to see the coolers where they store all the ingredients.
At the end, they sang  a Cold Stone song with them that included motions.  The kids all thought it was fun.
This is Emma Catherine and her teacher, Mrs. Angela.

After the field trip Whitney and I took our girls out to lunch since our little girls were still back at preschool.  Emma Catherine says that Whitney's daughter, Chloe is her best friend.  It cracks me up because I don't even know where she has heard the term best friend.  It also makes me sad though because Emma Catherine is going to really miss her friends when we move (and I will too).  Whitney was actually my first friend in Chattanooga.
