The 3 person Birthday Party

We went to Florida on Bailey's actual birthday to celebrate Bailey's, Emma Catherine's, and my aunt's birthdays. It was a very busy weekend but we had a great time. Bailey was not into her cake at all. I don't think she even took one bite. I cut it in half to try get her to dig into it, but that didn't help. I tried to put a few bites into her mouth, but that didn't help either. I was so surprised because she eats EVERYTHING. There were lots presents since the party was for 3 people.

By far, though, the highlight of the night was when Papa gave all the girls a present. (It was supposed to be for Christmas but it didn't come in time)

Happy Birthday Bailey!

On Saturday Bailey turned 1. Her first year has passed so quickly and honestly, I think she is changing daily. We had a fun time in Florida celebrating with my family and I will post pictures of that later in the week. Bailey has brought such joy to our family and it's hard to remember life before her. We went to the doctor today for her check up and she did great. She weighed 20.8 lbs (75th percentile) and 30 inches (90th percentile). She smiled and laughed at the doctor and didn't cry too much when she got her shot. Bailey isn't walking yet but she is getting close. She is pushing toys around and even standing without holding on to anything. She hasn't taken any steps, but it might be soon. She is still a great eater and eats everything we give her (except her birthday cake, but more about that later). She is only saying a few words, but she is jabbering a ton. I am also in the process of weaning her. We are down to nursing just once a day, and overall, it has gone pretty well. She seems to like milk and is getting better at using a cup. In honor of her birthday, I am going to list 12 things that I love about her since she is 12 months old.

1. I love that she smiles a lot.

2. I love that she already looks up to Emma Catherine.

3. I love that she is a great eater.

4. I love that usually goes with the flow of what our family is doing.

5. I love that she is vocal about her opinion.

6. I love that she says 'ha yo" (hello) when she picks up a phone.

7. I love that she will snuggle on my chest.

8. I love that she is a great napper and sleeper.

9. I love her funny faces when she is concentrating on something.

10. I love that she "dances" to music.

11. I love that she looks like her daddy.

12. I love her more than my words can express.

I love you, my sweet Bailey girl!

The Braddy Dance

A couple of posts below, I posted about a friend, Ricky Braddy who will be on American Idol tonight. His supporters are called The Braddy Bunch and they have asked people to do the"Brady dance" on camera and submit to the braddy bunch website. It all started with Ricky's dance here last week. After getting Emma Catherine to watch some of the video's of Kaylee, Carly and Jackson, and my sister Lauren, and a bribe of a few skittles, I got her to dance on camera. Ryan put the video together last night and they posted on the Braddy bunch website.

Happy Valentine's Day!

On Friday we went to a Valentine's party with some new friends in Chattanooga. The girls had fun decorating cookies and playing.

We were attempting to get all the girls to sit on the couch together. You can see that it was pretty difficult.

American Idol

My friend, Jenn and I watched all of season 1 of American Idol in our tiny one bedroom apartment one summer at Auburn. We were true fans of Kelly Clarkson but since then it has been hit or miss. This year I am back to watching it for one reason, Ricky Braddy. He is a friend of mine and best friends with a very close friend of mine. He lives in Nashville and is an incredible singer and a Christian. He just made it into the Top 36 on Wednesday night and he will be in the first group of 12 to perform this Tuesday night. Unfortunately he did not get a lot of air-time leading up to the Top 36 announcement, so he needs all the help he can get to get into the top 3. Please vote for him on Tuesday night. Valentine's Day Craft

I do not consider myself to be particularly crafty, although I aspire to be. I wanted to do some sort of Valentine's craft with Emma Catherine and this is what I came up with.

I cut out a bunch of hearts out of colored paper and then let her paint on half of the heart. Then we folded the heart together and "made a match" as she described it.

Yes, she painted in her underwear because it was the easiest way and I didn't have to worry about getting paint on her clothes.

This is what they looked like when we finished the first step.

I cut the red background out to make the hearts more sturdy. I then hung them up with yarn and..."it's so beautiful" Emma Catherine said.

Bed Head

I think this is what the term bed-head means...

Yes, she is not happy to be having her picture taken, but then again, she hasn't been happy about much of anything the last few days. We're hoping that she's just teething.
